Business currently uses an extensive MS Access database (known as BMS) developed ongoing by internal staff member. BMS currently integrates with MYOB (accounting) Looking to possibly move business accounting system to Xero. Project target is to formulate, develop and prove methodology with which MS Access system will be integrated to Xero (via Private Application). Long term - need to be able to push / pull the following to / from Xero: - Contacts: Clients / Suppliers - Invoices / sales - Items - Suppliers - Purchases - Recurring sales Possible Direction: - MS Access to Xero direct (requires OAuth with Xero API ?? possible) - Preferred - MS Access link to SQL or MySQL then .NET or PHP to push / pull via Xero API Methodology developed is to be extended upon with future developments. ie: Once methodology has been proven, the process will be extended upon by internal staff. It is not the requirement of this project to FULLY achieve the integration of the existing MS Access database and listed components above, but rather the methodology by which integration will be achieved. It is envisaged that the project output will be a sample MS Access database / system demonstrating the integration methodology. This will then be adapted / integrated to existing MS Access database separately to this project.

I have over ten years experience in .NET API, I have worked extensively with Xero API, in particular integrating with private applications. My database of choice has been MSSQL, but given a database is just a repository Access works just as well. I worked with credit notes and invoices and now work on some HR modules. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss the opportunity further.

Hi, I am a senior VBA/.NET developer based in Australia. I have just seen your project and wondering if you have made any progress? I have experience using the Xero API from .NET, I wrote an ActiveX COM wrapper so that an old VB application could use the Xero API directly to upload 'transactions' to be reconciled. This could be enhanced/altered so that it provided the functionality you have listed below, and be accessed from with VBA code in Access. I haven't investigated whether this is required or whether the API is accessible directly from with VBA. I am willing to put some research into this if you have not yet found a solution, but don't want to waste my time if you have. Look forward to hearing from you. Caleb.
