Description Global Language System is currently looking for an enthusiastic and talented Telephone Interpreters. The nature of the work is to handle calls on demand and by appointment, and would render meaning of conversations on the consecutive mode of interpretation between speakers of target languages and English Position Requirements • Completion of High school education • Native or Near Native Fluency in target languages and English • Excellent listening, retention and note taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy • Knowledge of industry-specific terminology; on-going study of glossaries and training materials including scripts provided by our clients • Ability to concentrate, stay detached from the conversation, and remain neutral and objective at all times • Ability to follow client's instructions closely • Ability to explain certain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication with the permission or at request of the client

I have also experience with various fields and their terminology and is well aware of the Arab context and mindset, which enables me to localize while translating rather than sticking unnecessarily to the literal meaning of words and expressions used in the source text. Though originally from Egypt, I have been residing in the GCC for more than 14 years (five years in Oman and the rest in Saudi Arabia, along with traveling extensively within the other GCC/ other countries), a matter that has given me an exposure to different Arabic cultures, mindsets, and attitudes.
