Are BGP routers open to attack(DDoS) ?

I need a network simulation that shows a BGP router on AS level that is under attack of DDoS.(TCP-UDP-Man in the middle attack) This simulation could be on a video frame or a software simulation that i could present to my colleagues. On simulation i need to see packets that flow through both router and attacking nodes. Attack scenario should supply botnet(zombie machines) and i need the graphs of the BGP router like resource-time, bandwith-time , etc.) Finally a small word document to explain the simulation briefly.
