OneWork Overview What is OneWork? OneWork is Software as a Service (SaaS) application designed for people of the corporate world to connect with one another. It will incorporate features similar to those of popular social networking sites, but at the same time be appropriate for the workplace. Why OneWork? Leaders often say that their organization’s greatest asset is its people—but in reality, this is only true when those employees are fully engaged in their jobs. Most HR leaders believe they have a significant retention and engagement problem. Employees are disengaged, overwhelmed and feel the concepts of work-life balance have been lost. Today’s workforce wants something different. They are demanding, they want meaningful work, and they expect their employer to make work more rewarding in many ways. As one HR manager put it, “today employees don’t want a career, they want an experience.” According to Gallup’s 2013 State of the American Workplace 70% of American workers are “not engaged” or “actively disengaged” and are emotionally disconnected from their workplaces and less likely to be productive—a problem that has significant implications for the economy and the individual performance of American companies. Gallup estimates that these actively disengaged employees cost the U.S. between $450 billion to $550 billion each year in lost productivity. OneWork helps organizations develop a passion and “soul” by redefining what “engagement” means. The platform connects hundreds and thousands of employees within any given organization, and from any given department in an organization, and with similar tastes and interests, for the many who wish to have close relationships at work, perhaps even a best friend or mentor. OneWork creates an amiable culture that encourages innovation in all areas and promotes employee happiness, well-being, and in turn, engagement. What We Are Looking For A motivated, passionate, and experienced fullstack developer to join the team and develop the SaaS application. In exchange, you will receive equity in OneWork. What Is SaaS? SaaS is a software delivery method that provides access to software and its functions remotely as a Web-based service. Software as a Service allows organizations to access business functionality at a cost typically less than paying for licensed since SaaS pricing is based on a monthly fee. Also, because the software is hosted remotely, users don't need to invest in additional hardware.
