community or portal

I have a toipc for a community portal but i don't know how to create a website like that...I was trying to make it in joomla, but the search feature and profile does not work the way I like it to. Each individual user cannot delete their own photo they put in their profile. So I was wondering if somebody that knows PHP can modify the modules in Joomla to create a more user friendly community that would run similar to MY SPACE or CAR DOMAIN, but with a totally different topic. If this can't be done, could someone make a site from scratch with a search feature, profile, and registration that all interacts with each other so that people could post pictures on their profile about my topic and communicate with each other as with an online community. Please let me know what I should do or what can be done. ## Deliverables If you can ceate this site using Joomla, then I need the search field modified so that users can search by state, country, zipcode, city, or username. The registration must be modified so that users have to type the stated information and their profile needs to be modified so the pics come up under their profile and so they can delete their own pictures. ## Platform windows xp, 98, and mac users and explorer, Firefox, Netscape,Linux
