It is a Micro-deposit system that will function as a plug-in to our Local Banks here. In our region, people are not in the habit of going to the Bank to save small amounts of money in view of the cost implication and other unfavourable circumstances surrounding it. They will rather expend it frivolously. So We thought of an electronic deposit scheme that will encourage savings even at the grassroot level. We want people at different social strata to be able to conveniently buy an electronic voucher from a vendor nearest them. On the voucher they will find a set of numbers that represent a stored value of money to the tune of what they want to deposit at any given time. The enabling medium of crediting this account will be the Mobile phone by way of SMS. But we do not want a J2ME application that will be downloaded to every user's phone. We want them to credit their bank account by simply typing the given set of numbers on the voucher in the SMS editor of their phone probably in this format, 333377289393, 571 556124 1590 and sending as text message to a Short code of a Network. Now, the Application server we want to develop here will receive it first, authenticate it against a database and forward it to the appropriate Channel(Bank) where it will do the simple of work of crediting an account.
