Client and Server Side Image Resizer

We are running an employee roster that allows staff to upload their picture and other project images as jpegs, gifs, bmp's. The issue is that most of these are formatted at 1mb or higher and the staff has no wherewithal to resize them prior to uploading. Our web application is in php4/5. Since the server is a great distance away in the colo, and we have many images to load, we don't want to bog-down bandwidth exclusively with a server side script. However, in some cases it may be required we do that (for outside customers. We need a plug-in that will resize those formats on the client side, then upload them to the server. The images need two sizes, standard, say 100kb max and thumbnail, 20kmax. Rotation and flips should be supported. The webpage accepts them one by one, as notes can be attached to them. If you've seen the ipix service, you'll get what we need. We need compatibility across windows, mac, and linux. It's ok if they need VM or a small installer for staff. For the outside customers, who are infrequent uploaders, we can suffer a server side application if they don't want to install the application. ## Deliverables Rent A Coder requirements notice: As originally posted, this bid request does not have complete details.
