I am looking for a simple windows xp application to be written.
It will consist of 2 parts: A chat client (use an existing open sourced one) and a bunch (maybe 5) of GUI buttons (that open embedded internet explorers to a preset webpage url)
Basically it will have a Jabber chat client and a number of buttons. Depending on the users classification (1 of 4 total chosen during installation) the buttons will also say different things.
Clicking on the buttons will open an embedded internet explorer which brings them to a certain webpage (based on parameters like their user classification and the date etc)
This program will/should:
1) Easily install from an exe file
with as little user interaction as possible, but allowing the user to choose whether they are in one of 4 different user classifications. During this install the program is installed and the chat client is setup. There is only one jabber server so only the jabber user/pwd would need to be entered.
The first time the user runs the program after installing they click a button which opens an embedded internet explorer, leading them to login to a page where they see their user/pwd for jabber chat. Then they enter this into the open window and everything is complete. After that the program then autologs them into chat upon starting their computer and the program sits in the system tray.
2) Use a free, open source Jabber chat client for its chat functionality.
3) I want the total source code so I can make minor changes in the future (like change the embedded browser links linked to the buttons)
