Document Finder tool that can provide easy and intelligent searches among the document files. The required document type includes presentations, pdf, doc and txt files. The main idea behind this software is combining human tagging with an automated semantic search for efficient document finding. The tool is supposed to have a manual as well as auto-tagging capabilities. Once the documents are tagged, the user will enter a few queries in the search page of the tool to look for the most relevant documents.

Hi, I have developed similar tools for indexing and finding files for Windows and Linux. The algorithm to use would be a combination of depth-first-search and breadth-first-search, depending on the nature of the search. I don't know if indexing of files is an option? This could drastically speed up searches. In addition, caching previous searches would also help speed up future searches. Adding tags to files is a great idea. Let me know if you are interested in my implementation!

I am a professional C and C++ software developer having more than 6 years of experience. I have worked on Windows and Linux operating systems. The given requirement could be solved by leveraging the Windows tagging system. Windows already supports adding of tags like Author, Title, Comments, Subject etc (depending on file type - pdf, ppt, txt etc). I could work on this and provide a mechanism of introducing new/existing Windows property which you could use for tagging the required files.
