What we need: iPhone app to communicate in real-time with ELM327 Bluetooth OBD2 OBD-II Diagnostic Scanner Tool. See attached screen for possible simple home screen. When Clicked: Pair device: Turns on bluetooth pairing, automatically tries to pair with a device named, "Smart Car OBD-II". Pairs the iPhone with this device. and then enter the PIN number of "1234". As automated as the process can be, with a green light when it is all paired. Gas Mileage: Goes to simple screen with Gas Mileage at the top, and 2 readings from the ODB2, the first one is current gas mileage (which could be nothing) and updated a text field in real time, so as you drive it changes. the second reading is the long term (average) gas mileage from the car (not alway available). Check Battery: Goes to a simple screen with Voltage at the top and 1 reading of the current voltage coming from the alternator. Should be green if 11.5Volts or higher, red if 11.4 or lower. Alternator Voltage PID Read Codes: Reads all error(trouble) codes from the ODB2 and displays them on screen. Coolant Temp: Goes to a simple screen with Coolant Temperature at the top and 1 reading of the current temperature from the coolant reading, updates in real time. Reset Error Codes: Sends the reset error code signal to the ODB2, so that the check engine light will turn off on the car and error codes will no longer display.
