Request for Proposal(s) for ANALYSIS AND AUDITING (separately) In terms of ANALYSIS: I am soliciting proposals for the compilation of stock market index data in 2 forms Deliverable 1. The traditional form of firm names by index position on the x axis and year on the y axis, with the names of new entrant firms and delisted firms noted in their first (or) final year (respectively) of appearance in the index. (The entrant/exit notation for each firm can take the form of different fonts/colors, character notations (parentheses or brackets and the like), or even a list of entrants and exits at the bottom of each year.) Deliverable 2. A transposition of that data into one where the name of each firm that ever appears in the index appears on the y axis, and its position in the in the index is shown for each succeeding year (e.g. with years on the y axis). Deliverable 3. Full, detailed, and auditable references for the source(s) of each data point listed. Data should be submitted in the form of backwards-compatible Excel spreadsheets. PROPOSALS SHOULD INCLUDE a. the index or indexes you proposed to compile in this manner b. the time frame in which this can/will be accomplished c. the amount and means of payment you expect to receive for your service d. email and phone contact information (with preferred times of contact for phone calls) You may select and bid on whichever stock market index or indexes you feel familiar and competent with. (The opportunity here includes both major stock indices (such as [login to view URL]) and sector indices (such as [login to view URL]). If you bid on more than one index, you may offer a competitive discount for being assigned work on more than one index, but you're also invited to bid each separately so that we can provide Note that your work will be independently audited with a substantive portion of full and final payment withheld until the work has been certified as complete, accurate, and fully documented. -=-=-=- In terms of AUDITING: If you are interested in being part of the team which audits this work (other than your own), you are also encouraged to submit a proposal which includes a detailed plan/methodology for conducting such an audit plus items 'a' through 'd' as noted in the section above (although you will want to specify that you intention is to bid on auditing rather than compilation/analysis. Audits can be comprehensive or sample based, but in all cases must deliver a report which provides 1. A detailed listing of the specific data actually audited and full and detailed results of each element of the audit. 2. A proposal of remediation in cases where data is either found to be missing, improperly (or simply not) verified/documented, incorrect, or otherwise non-credible.
