I have worked in the past on a voluntary basis tutoring others in the English language. My last two students had been from Egypt, and one before that was from Portugal. I am currently in school getting my degree in Social Services. I find teaching with praise and encouragement is the best way. I have found that using pronunciation practices through speaking with each other and video viewing in off times is extremely helpful. Typically finding areas that interest the student and using those subjects to practice the language is very beneficial. In the past, I have used subjects of student interest and music. I will begin with word pronunciation and inflection. At each session, there will be a list of words to practice and learn for the session coming up. These words will be made into sentences by the students as well as studying pronunciation techniques and proper use in the English language. I will teach by addressing questions and defining terms that are not understood. Depending on the level of English that the student is currently at, we can incorporate writing sentences and short stories to address grammar and spelling issues. These practice techniques also help in the ability to form sentences during speech training. Please feel free to contact me for more information. Hello! I am writing in relation to the job offer for English tutor. I am a Bulgarian national married to a US citizen and currently residing in the US. I am proficient in English. I have studied it all my life, but more importantly than that, I have had plenty of chances to use it practically. In 1995 I came to the USA as a scholarship student of Open Society Foundation and spent one academic year in Westtown PA. After I graduated from university I lived in South Korea for eleven years. There is a vibrant expat community there and the main language of communication is, of course, English. Apart from communicating in the language, I have had a lot of experience teaching it. I have taught as a part-time freelancer to little children, high school students, and adults. I did this in Korea while working on my degrees.
