Hello, I have a compass (read 0° to 360°) that are presenting an error. I only need a SIMPLE mathematical formula math/trigonometry to apply to the read value to cancel the error (be as close from 0 as possible). The formula must be analysed before release the milestone - see my qualifications.

I can give you an approximation with two cubic functions in two intervals with maximum error<1. An approximation with one cubic function in all interval gives maximal error=9.

Hello sir, I am just looking up your attachment. What I found the errors following a normal distribution. In this case, I need to know something, the compass is a magnetic compass? As i saw the error going up up to 150 degrees and same reading of error at 180 degrees..then its again coming down as same sequence. So I wish you to share me a full 360 degree reading not upto 330, so in that case we can see if the error is again going up or not ? Please try to understand my point and discuss about it please. Hi. I can help you to find the formula for compensating the angle error from the compass. I have a background in engineering and have made similar calculations before.

I've found a solution that consists of two formulas. When you add formula to read values, error is between 0.15 and 3.7. If that is good enough contact me please.
