We are a steel fabrication shop with ~20 employees. We are in need of a MS Access database that will generate the following types of outputs: 1. customer quotations based on materials lists and hourly labour estimations 2. bills of materials for mechanical drawings 3. an indexed table of quotes/bills of materials issued ( YYYY-000) 4. directly importable excel spreadsheets with material lists for vendors to update with current pricing 5. reports on material costs by vendor 6. reports on all aspects of the quotations generated 7. summaries for the total weight, total paint used, the total structural steel with, fasteners & plate used a separate summary for mechanical components ie motors & hydraulics The inputs should be as follow: 1. materials used ie plate, bar, HSS, HHCS, SHCS, FHCS, heavy hex nut, washer, stair tread, pipe, motor, belt, sprocket, valve, pipe fitting (basically all types of materials that machinery is built with). These need very particular input masks like architectural units, motor frame designations, thickness x length x width, OD x ID x length, thread series and sizes, using English or metric units, material designations like grade & hardness and certifications (mill certs.). Material densities, weights and surface areas are also needed to define them. 2. ongoing updates of vendor pricing for each material (imported directly from vendor populated spreadsheets as noted above) 3. hourly shop rates, with the ability to charge out different rates for different operations 4. the amount of paint used for a unit surface area 4. desired markup percentages for materials and labour separately 5. lead times for presentation on quotations
