CAD Expert for Mechanical Design & Prototyping

Project Description: We are seeking a highly skilled freelance CAD designer to join our team on a project basis, bringing innovative solutions to the design and prototyping of sophisticated mechanical parts. This project will not only tap into your expertise in Fusion 360 for 3D modeling but will also involve close collaboration with our prototyping team to turn conceptual designs into tangible, functional products. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with our in-house engineers to conceptualize and refine mechanical designs, ensuring feasibility for 3D printing. - Utilize Fusion 360 to create intricate 3D models with a focus on modular design, ease of manufacturing, and material optimization. - Conduct simulations and stress analysis within Fusion 360 to predict and improve product performance. - Employ precision and expertise in adapting designs for a variety of 3D printing technologies, including FDM, SLA, and SLS. - Iterate designs based on prototype testing feedback, with an eye toward design for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA) principles. - Manage design documentation, including detailed drawings and specifications for manufacturing. - Work within established timelines, contributing to our reputation for reliability and rapid turnaround on prototyping projects. Required Experience and Skills: - Proven track record with Fusion 360 or similar CAD software in a professional setting. - Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals and design principles. - Previous experience with 3D printing processes and materials is crucial. - Exceptional attention to detail for creating high-precision designs suitable for advanced manufacturing techniques. - Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and adhere to tight schedules.
