My company has been running multiple servers on XenServer 6.2 for quite a while without difficulty. Recently, a power failure took down the server and required an fsck to be run on the disks. This was done after considerable work. I was left with a XenServer with no local storage and no virtual machines. I have, I believe, recovered the SR named "Local storage". But still no virtual machine definitions. I am extremely concerned about doing much of anything blindly on this because loss of the virtual machines is going to be pretty bad. After replacing disk /dev/sda and restoring the raid, the server doesn't want to boot. I have access to the server via remote netboot rescue mode. I want to load balance my 2x pfense servers and want to start adding VLAN's with ip filtering etc.. at this moment its one flat network and am looking for someone with good pfsense knowledge and that can assist me in adding VLAN's to my network. The switches are TP Link and HP Aruba with vlan capabilities. Also the network is virtualized with XenServer. You must have good pfsense and networking knowledge. My Server people (Hetzner/Germany) have just installed an additional 480GB SATA SSD hard drive for me. They only install the hard drive and what I need is it to be configured the RAID or RAID1 array (or Non-RAID) by someone to mount it in my system. I believe this all happens via iDRAC. We recently had a production server that was throwing off bad block errors and slowing the machine to a crawl. The effected volume is a RAID1 that covers the c: drive. The rebuild of the failing drive went without errors. Upon restarting errors, have about 4-5 issues to run down and solve. (Ex: CAPI1, error 256, Volsnap event 14, partition is now shown as RAW whereas it should be NTFS; therefore, chkdsk cannot run. RPC Service terminate Event 7031 and a couple more). I ve 2 one TB hard drive. Uefi mode installation needs more partition than bios mode. I tried with / root directory 984 GB (2times) and swap partition 16 GB (2times) . Disk partition warning: it might be difficult to reboot the machine into any bios-mode operation system later. We have a XENSERVER 7.1 and there is a disk error happening on a ZIMBRA e-mail server in which the Virtual Machine is not loading anymore. If we remove the logical disk, it goes OK, but when we attach the disk back, the virtual machine doesn't come up back again showing the following error message in the XEN SERVER: TAPDISK EXPERIENCED AN ERROR.
