I have a Canon 5D Mark III camera and a Canon EF 400mm Lens. I have them both being controlled to take pictures using my own software on the computer (using the Canon SDK). I would like to know the following: Can I get a distance in metres from an image I have taken with my camera? Can I use the Canon SDK to send the focus to a preset value? Can I use the Canon SDK to grab the focus value it is currently on? - I am assuming the lens focus motors has some sort of feedback sent to the camera. I would like these answered as a document with proof and reasoning why you have answered it in this way.
