Recently completed large bandwidth monitoring project, currently monitoring approx 400 devices and all physical ethernet ports on these devices. Can do this for you easily using apache, php, rrdtool etc. Lowered my bid to try and get my first project on here :)

Hi I can provide you with a number of different solutions to monitor your bandwidth utilisation on your switch. Personally, I prefer Linux to perform the monitoring - which, is normally done at a period of 5 minute intervals. I have been working with Red Hat for the past 15 years (I am a qualified RHCE) and have been monitoring both servers and networks for a considerable portion of that time. Zabbix is linux based very excellent Bandwidth Monitoring, Network Devices, Servers (Linux, Windows,AIX etc..), Services, etc Monitoring tool. Another Alternate Tool is use "PRTG" Monitoring, we are also using for MAN (Metropolitan Area Network, WAN, Wide Area Network, Lease Line ) I am running Zabbix and monitoring 400+ servers, 70+ Network Devices, Services etc.. Give a Chance to do this.

Recently did almost similar project in which wrote a PHP script to monitor QOS configurations on cisco routers to be embeded in CACTI. I can do Bandwidth monitor using SNMP. The script will be in PHP, can be set on linux. Can run as cronjob or any other way, as per your requirements. Hoping to hear from you soon. Thanks Atif Majid
