They are looking for someone that has good experience, is a good communicator, shows a track record of success, and is honest and forthcoming about their skills and abilities. Of course you should present yourself in the best light possible, and of course you should highlight the skills you have and the accomplishments you have made. But please don’t go overboard trying to make an impression. In my experience, that will only backfire and be misinterpreted as either someone trying to “con” the recruiter, or someone who is obnoxious and arrogant. No one wants either of those types in their organization.
