What makes be a great transcriptionist is my experience to this field and also my reviews. Why am I a great transcriptionist? Because I have the natural affinity for it, being an introverted and highly focused lone freelancer working at home with a strong grasp of the English language. I have the talent for it and the experience to back it up as well as you can see on my profile's work history, client reviews and attached portfolio items. I am not a project manager for some agency. I'm sure you and I both agree that it is best to go straight to hiring independent contractors for the best quality work with no BS, false promises and time-wasting involved. As an independent contractor I have a very strict policy of NEVER subcontracting or farming out my work to anyone else upon accepting a project. As for the bid, I believe that it is better for this project to be a fixed-rate one so I can bid accordingly. Given my current rate now I can transcribe 15 minutes of material for just $6. For 23 interviews of about 30 minutes each I estimate that I will take about 12 days to finish and it will cost $276 in total. I can of course finish faster but I'm giving myself a schedule of 1 day per 60 minutes of material to allow myself time to proofread after transcribing, and also just in case if I have my other clients giving me more audios to transcribe at the same time. Hi there! I believe I am a great transcriptionist because I do listen and try to work out what is being said. I do not simply type what I think it is. English is my first and only language. Two hours of actual typing for each transcription has been allowed for, and based on this, the total would be $1,150. While this would take 46 hours, I have also allowed for two weeks completion as I have other clients that I work for and I have a job on the 4th and 5th of September. I never outsource any work that is awarded to me as I believe I would lose quality. However, I do not have experience with Operational Excellence and Lean Six Sigma.
