I am not too sure of from where to where the migration should take place. Do you want the same gallery plugin that you used to have? I have stored the galleries that I use in either flickr orpicasaweb, thus eliminating traffic to my host for images. There are a number of plugins that can be used via shortcode to incorporate the galleries into your site, with paid for ones removing all traces of where the image is stored.
