Wordpress Advanced Redirect with htaccess

A previous programmer helped me with this, but all URLs are reading as 404 even though I can see them in the browser. I THINK the solution for the rewriting of the URLS must be exclusively in the htaccess file. Example using this URL: [login to view URL] If you use Firebug, you'll see that this page give the error: "NetworkError: 404 Not Found - [login to view URL]" I believe this is do to the rewriting taking place inside the function file rather than in the htaccess file.
