PDA Survey Creator

Looking for an experienced programmer to develop an application that would run on Microsoft Windows and allow us to customize/create surveys and install them on a Palm or Pocket PC handheld so we can run the questionnaire at any time & any place. Additionally, the buyer would like the ability to install the survey on a camera enabled PDA so a color picture could be linked to the survey responses. Once all responses are entered into the handheld, we would like to hook the devise back up to the computer to download responses in a usable format. PDA Possibilities: Palm ??" Zire 71, Sony Clie TJ37 *or other Pocket PC 2003 ??" Viewsonic V36 *or other Ideal scenario: -Programmer develops Windows application that creates surveys to run on either Palm or Pocket PC platform. -Handhelds can be delivered to respondents and once powered on they should only see a “Go?? button or an introduction leading into the survey. -User should then be able to take a picture of their setting and move on to the survey portion. -Surveys will be simple question and answer using check boxes or radio buttons. **No open-ended questions, thus keyboard or graffiti style typing will not be necessary. -Sample questions include: What is your favorite animal? o Dog o Cat o Bird o Zebra What type of pet do you currently have?  Dog  Cat  Bird -We would like the ability to enter hundreds of questions with dozens of possible responses. -One of the more difficult parts of this project involves the ability to program skips or includes depending on the way a question is answered. I.E. If response one is selected then skip straight to question four. And only if response number two is selected would you include question number two. -Once the survey is created I would like to sync it up to the handheld using the cradle and once powered on have it automatically run over all other programs. -Open to suggestions as to which format the results are exported in. Possibly XML, HTML, or a simple tab-delimited file to import into Crystal Reports. -Once application is tested I can then purchase more handhelds to reach more respondents. Additional Desired Features: -The handheld should automatically record the time and date and include that in the results. -No additional functionality (calendar, contacts, notes, etc.) on the handheld is required and would optimally be disabled to the user. ## Deliverables Please email with any suggestions you have regarding functionality, feasibility, your recommended programming language, and what third party software or API’s would be required or available. Further into the coder selection process I will require references to other programs you have built and experience on the topic. Also request that once project is completed in a timely manner the programmer be open to future work with the buyer to further customize and extend application’s feature set. Deliverables: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform specified in this bid request. 3) Exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site). ## Platform Windows NT, 2000, XP, 2003 Server.
