Competent .Net developer required to build a new version of existing VB6 project.
In addition to .Net, experience of manipulating MP3 and WAV file formats is essential. Familiarity with php would also be helpful but is not essential.
The current application uses various 3rd party COM controls to record, manipulate and merge sound files, and to write them to CD. Since the current application was developed over 3 years ago, many of the 3rd party controls are outdated and unsupported. You will be required to obtain new 3rd party controls with licenses (we will pay additionals for these controls).
The tasks involved are primarily to ensure the application saves datafiles in the correct folder structure (i.e. under Documents, rather than Program Files) and to resolve any issues around security privileges. As such you will need a Vista development environment, and ideally Windows XP and Windows 9x for regression testing and support purposes.
The current application is reasonably compact, involving about 10 functionally-rich forms; however it has been modified by a number of developers and the code lacks a single clear style or structure.

See 'Developer' document for more detailed specs as written by our previous programmer (who decided that he did not want to learn more about Vista)
The software must be fully tested and bug-free on all 3 platforms (Vista, XP, 2000) prior to presenting us with the final version.
We are also be interested to ongoing support once the software is developed and finished.

Hi, We have had a lot of bids and interest. To help narrow down our choices, please answer the following: "Please indicate which 3rd party libraries you are planning to use for components that you will not implement yourself, such as CD ripping and burning as well as mp3 co/decoding and if possible (without purchasing), send us a copy of the license agreement for those components." Again, the cost for 3rd party libraries will not be included in your bid. We will pay for these separately. Also, please make sure that you download our product and play with it so that you fully understand all of the functions. [login to view URL] All of the current functions will be required with the exception of Step 4 - Finish your product, Ask Got Vision to Make my CD. We are eliminating this erroneous task. We are also changing the function in Step 3 - Combine my Voice and Music - after combining, the adjustments for the voice and music. We would like to change it to slider bars for each volume adjustment. If you wish, please adjust your bid accordingly. We have extended the bid to Monday to allow time for you to provide us this information. Thank you, Bobby Baines
