Dear All,
I need help with a sorting routine that has specific requirements:
Take a table that is n rows long and m columns wide. This contains numbers that reflect sizes of shoes. This data wasn't given, but I can create some if you wish.
This program should read the first column of this data that is n rows long and m columns wide, and enter this data into an array that is also n rows long, but 1 column wide.
Then this program should create 2 new arrays, I and Y. Y is an array that is the sorted array where the smallest shoe size appears as the first element of the array. I is an array where it contains the rank of the shoe sizes, but the location of the rank in the array reflects the location of the shoe sizes that are in the original array. IMPORTANT: The original array should NOT be changed. And do NOT sort the entire column. Instead, take the smallest 10 shoe sizes and then sort them from smallest to largest., and the output should be for the smallest 10 sizes ONLY.
As an example:
X():
5
9
7
10
Y():
5
7
9
10
I():
1
3
2
4
