I'm very interested in developing an online game that is very much like this: [login to view URL] This TrendMicro game is basically a commercial for a product, but I would like for the game I have developed for my company to be used as a teaching/testing tool. One that requires the player to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of command-line computer security tools such as packet-sniffers, firewalls, and IDSs. I would like a very visually appealing game, with good music. The basic game idea should be similar to the link above. The player will be given a network that he will need to protect from various security threats. The score will be determined by how well the player recognizes (via sniffer/IDS), and mitigates (via Firewall rules/server hardening) the attacks. The game will be required to communicate with my PHP/MySQL website, and track user scores, levels attempted, and number of times played for my website members. Command-line syntax for the IDS, the firewalls, and sample log data for each of the attacks and attack variations will be provided to the developer. It will be the developer’s job to create the game interface with connectivity to the MySQL DB, and accompanying game music. Status Reports & Documentation ALL development will be done in accordance with LSO documentation requirements (reference: [login to view URL] file). Status reports WILL be emailed to Joe McCray (joe@[login to view URL]) on every Tuesday and Friday along with ALL source code and documentation in the required format as stated in the documentation requirements file.
