Brief Dear Coders! I need help to develop a game in flash. The game will display flash cards that will show a detail of a zoomed picture, and when clicked the flash card will 'turn' to reveal the full image and play a sound with the narration. Users should be able to flip back and forth between both sides of the card at will. Please contact me should you have any questions concerning the brief. Specifications • Game would be embedded in XHTML. • Game would run on dynamic content: • The data for each flashcard would be held in a MySQL database. • The character, image and sound files would be held in separate directories on the web server. • Each card would be categorized in the database. • e.g. Should a user want to play “Textures??, the user would be presented with a game that only displays the cards that belong to the 'Textures' category • A card will belong to at least one category, but can belong to multiple categories. • cards will also have a 'difficulty' rating (one rating per flashcard) • The game should preload the detailed image, full image and sound file for each card individually to avoid large preload times. • The database layer will be developed by me unless the coder specifically wants to take this on. • How the data is retrieved is up for discussion: either the coder can integrate this into the game, or the data can be retrieved using PHP 'outside' the game and then passed to the game. This could be passed in a number of formats (HTTP request variables, (get, post), cookies, embedded variables. • Graphics for the game will be implemented by me. Therefore the game should be in a form of template and easy to change graphics etc.
