Remotely execute application

I need to execute a program on a remote machine (that I have admin. privs on) without ever having to physically go to that machine. I know this is possible from using PsExec from sysinternals.com. PsExec remotely installs a service and then accepts commands from a console executable. I also would like it to run from a DOS Prompt, like PsExec and give feedback to whether everything was successful or you could use TCP/IP (with a port #) and accept commands from it. Either way, I would be using VB to issue the commands. It only need to work with NT based OS's (NT4/W2K/XP) I do not wish to use WMI because I don't want to depend on WMI being installed on every machine and the AT command doesn't help because I want to execute the program now, not in a minute from now. Also I can't just use PsExec because I need it to be royalty-free. NOTE: There is a freeware one with source code at: [login to view URL] But it doesn't allow you to execute a program (like [login to view URL]) and show the GUI, although there are messages saying you can if you modify the code. Also I very much need the service to be able to execute programs that reside on another machine, as in: Executed from \\MyMachine: rexec \\TargetMachine \\MyMachine\C\Winnt\[login to view URL] When I do this with xCmd it says "Access Denied", although if I go to the TargetMachine I can type \\MyMachine\C\Winnt\[login to view URL] in a DOS Prompt and it brings up Calc.exe. Please be sure you're able to do the project before bidding.
