Hi All,
We have been given two pieces of software for some access control hardware we bought from China. The two pieces of software are similar in functionality, I believe they are written in .NET and they both have a MS Access database back end. We can provide both pieces of software for you to reverse engineer/inspect - please find them attached.
Currently the two pieces of software look and act very similar, but aren't compatible - we are not sure why, so we would like to have a new piece of software written that would communicate with both types of hardware. We are ideally looking for someone to write a new piece of software that would have just a few of the functions that the current software has. This would include the following functions:
- Register New Users
- Edit Users
- Set Permissions
- Remotely Open Doors
The software works by synchronising changes from the software/database to the access control hardware over the local network. Again we can arrange remote access to the hardware for you so you inspect the commands being sent.
I hope the above makes sense, we are on hand to help and advise as needed. To summarise, we are looking for someone to look at the current two hardware systems, and recreate one software application that has a small number of functions.
The reason we are doing this is because we don't want to use two pieces of software for the two different manufacturers of hardware. We would like one piece of software to work with all the hardware. We have a budget of $400 if the work is completed in full and tested.
All the best,
Matthew
P.S. The Access database password in the attached software is ras258
