You can download the platformer example project from unity for free, and mess around with that, also they have plenty of tutorial videos in the live training section. Cheers.

I mainly work on 3d, but I am confident I can make a 2d plataformer. I am good at teaching what I know. And I use techniques which simplify the design of behaviour. Look up Finite State Machines. This is the main workhorse in the design of complex behaviour and I am proficient at it. We can break up the 100 dollars into milestones/lessons. As we brainstorm and choose what to add to the plataformer.
