I need a desktop application (NOT a web-based, please) that allows a user to create an entire book - cover and pages - and create promo materials like bookmarks, mailers, cd covers etc. I have existing software for book covers & promo materials and would like to work from this existing interface if possible, with a page formatting interface added to be able to create multiple pages like Word or InDesign, but easier. Needs to be simple, elegant, and correct. Here are the requirements for each platform: Base structure: • Customize size, trim area, bleed, flap option • Units of measurement: Centimeters, inches, or points • Work in standard 300dpi, and option to go higher resolution • RGB & CMYK color mode • Grid view • Snap to guides • Undo option (several steps if possible) 1. Cover platform: • Text + paragraph styles • Custom color palette • Apply shapes, borders + embellishments • Generate ISBN barcode • Import + manipulate images, photos, + graphics • Save in PDF, TIF, JPG, GIF or PNG • Generate cover in 2D or 3D with different view options • Compatible with any online or traditional book printer 2. Page design platform: Customize margin area Apply several elements—like chapter/section heads, sidebars, footnote area, charts, indexing + more Auto-correct option 3. Marketing materials platform: • Create Brochures, Fliers, Mailers, E-books, Bookmarks, Magazine Covers, Bumper stickers, Posters, Business Cards, CD/DVD covers, Postcards, Envelopes • Import images, photos, + graphics • Save in PDF, TIF, JPG, GIF or PNG Here are our current trial versions for BookCoverPro (cover design) and PrintMarketingPro (promo design): [login to view URL] I also have the java source files to work from. * Only submit your quote if you have experience with desktop software.
