I need someone to modify a specialized music font, which I use with Finale 2002.
The font is called Kidnotes. It's produced by DVM Publications
When Kidnotes is installed in a computer it can also be read by Finale Notepad.
The idea behind it is fine – it displays note names inside the note-heads of a musical score, making the music notation easier to read.
Only problem is, the font is set up to have staff lines superimposed on the note names.
Thus the note G appears with a black line running through the serif of the white letter G, making the G look like a C. Similar problems occur for other notes written on staff lines.
Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to modify the font so that the letter names appear on top of the staff line, improving legibility of the font.
.
It seems that Finale needs to be modified as well as the font. Finale writes its staff line over the top of notes, so it needs to be told to write the note heads on top of the lines. Having done that, the font needs to display he letter names in white, not clear.
Perhaps a program like Fontographer would be useful

Don't bother contacting DVM, or Finale. The former did not respond to my email and the latter says there is no better system.
All the samples you should need are here:

To complete the project you must be able to send me an MUS file you created with your modified font, showing the letter-names properly displayed.
I look forward to your bid.
