I am a current English and Geography teacher who has experience of both GCSE English Language and GCSE English Literature with pupils of all abilities and both whole class teaching and private tutoring. I hold a PGCE in Secondary English from the University of London Institute of Education (2002). I currently teach 3 days a week in a private secondary school in London. My degree (University of Manchester) was in English Literature and my final year specialisations were Shakespeare, Jane Austen and the Victorian Novel. My Masters was in English Language and my dissertation was on the politics of language in English schools. My current school has been teaching remotely using Zoom/Google Classroom since March so I am experienced in managing this scenario successfully. I am available all day on Mondays and Tuesdays (I teach in my current school Wednesday to Friday). However because of the time difference between the UK I would only be able to start at 12pm BKK time which is 6am here. I have taught sessions of 1hr 45 minutes although my experience of online teaching is that shorter sessions with separate written tasks and then feedback sessions are preferable. I have ideas of how to make this work in practice based on my experience of this year. I look forward to hearing from you.
