I have this very simple AC circuit. I want users to be able to control a vacuum and solenoid either from a physical switch or this remote control relay that I bought - [login to view URL] Here is my simple circuit. Everything is 120v on AC current. [login to view URL] Please let me know if this is okay. I don't want it current to go backwards into the relay. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks.

Hello, my name is George Bouris. I have 30+ years of experience in industrial electronics. Your circuit is correct. My concern is for the relay. They state that it is rated for 5A for an inductive load. So, you better check if this is sufficient for the vacum and the solenoid. From my experience, I wouldn't use this relay for more than 2A. The above apply to the switch, as well. As a general rule, use a switch rated for at least 2x the needed current for INDUCTIVE load. Regarding your concern, about current that may go backwards to the relay, it's not important. It won't harm the relay or anything else. Finally, if the installation is permanent, prefer to connect the L wire of the source to the relay and switch.

Hello, I have gone to the document, one small change needs to be done. 1) The Red Wire should be neutral point of the (120V) supply. 2) And Black should be Line/live point. With above changes, if switch or Relay is off their will be no Live 120V presence across the load terminals.(In current condition line voltage will be present across the load terminals even if switch/relay is off). I can send you Electrical circuit diagram for the same. Thanks and Regards, Santosh

hello sir, i took a look at the remote control link, and also your description at the link you put. this remote recievers need 220vac, or what ever power source to operate and on/off , so what i understood from your description, that you going to use it in different way to control the vacuum solenoid valves, my question how you planning to use the power source when you use the reciever for the vacuum? and for your question if the setup work or not, it should work when a remote button is pressed to ON the receiver relay, and so the vacuum solenoid, and if it is off the vacuum would work by its own control /ON buttons, cause there will not be a power source from the remote receiver, but this way you would still need to connect the vacuum with another power source, from where it would get the power that time? message me, and we discuss more, and i adjust it to work the way you need, regards, Gaber

Hi, I am chaithanya. I understand that you need the correct circuit model for your application which can control vacuum & solenoid either from remote or switch. I have checked the circuit file which has been provided, it needs slight modifications to form the whole integrated circuit. I can provide you with the correct workable circuit model. Look forward to work together. Thanks, Chaithanya.S

i am doing embedded designs and programming i can help you in this if you like you can pay me as per the connection it should work. but as you have told it is an inductive load if it make a huge surge it ma effect the controller (if any if not using watchdog) if the product bought is having some other methods like encoder /decoder IC it wont make any problem if any doubt please contact

The relay in the remote may not last long. You don't say much about the vacuum load rating for amps, but my guess is that inside there's a motor. Motor's have large in-rush current when starting, and they are an inductive load which is extra hard on relay and switch contact because there's more sparking energy that a resistive load. Solenoid valves are a highly inductive load, but fortunately not high current like a typical vacuum motor would be. Usually one over-rates the relay or switch contacts for 2-3 times the motor or inductive load current, to get decent lifetime out of it. Without knowing more about the vacuum load, about all anyone can do is caution you that you relay might only last 100-1,000 switching cycles. A couple things you can do is add a snubber and/or MOV across the relay contacts. The other thing is to add a zener to the relay coil on the PCB so it's contacts opens as fast as possible. If you just want confirmation that your wiring and logic is correct, then yes two switches in parallel operate the load as an "OR" function. There's no danger of current going backwards into the relay.

It seems simple enough. I have worked with relays before for my projects, so it seems doable. Just tell what is it that you want and i can get it done for you in a short span of time.
