Hello, I need help for an urgent SPSS or SAS project.
For this project, a source file called "totranspose" is provided , which is a table with comma-separated columns. First column is a string, all the others are integers. This first table is to be converted into another table with a program/script that winner would write, a program that I would be able to use on other similar tables as the totranspose table. A second file called [login to view URL] is provided in order to facilitate comprehension of the problem (see below).
The totranspose table contains a lot of columns (around 1750 columns), with first row containing the headers, thus we have the column ID and then the columns 16, 17, 25 till 6869. From this first table, another second table must be created containing all the information present in the first table. In the second table, I only want three columns: a column "ID" as in the first table, a column called "PI" that contains the values for each column of the first table (ie the values present in the columns 16, 17, 25 to 6869 of the first table) and a third column called "NUMBER" that correspond to the header of the column. The third column just indicates from which header the values have been taken from (so, for example, the number 16 will be repeated a few times, the same is true for the number 17, 25 till 6869). In other words, all the columns 16, 17, 25 till 6869 should be put one under the other (so column 17, will be under column 16, column 25 will be under column 17 and so on till column 6869). We thus end up with a second table with many many lines (instead of many many columns as in the first table). The excel file attached called [login to view URL] will help you to understand what I want from the first table "totranspose" (in the example, I thus started to do it manually).
Please note that I need a script/program that can automatically convert any table having the same format as the "totranspose" file (I will have other similar files in the future, with the same structure, that I need to convert but which will have more columns and more lines). The output file should be a txt file.
Looking forward to your bids,
Ollatanbo
I am a statistician, working with SPSS all day, every day. I can do this easily, I'll make a syntax that's usable for other files like this one as well, with instructions how to use it.
Hi,
We can do this by writing a script in SPSS. We do have lot of experience in SPSS Scripting. We are group of three Statistician doing market research projects. Please provide us an opportunity, we will prove ourselves.
Our turnaround time will be very fast. Please contact us (skype id:mvallinayagam).
Thanks
