Modifying Arduino Code

Hello, Please tell me if I understood correctly. You want that when you press the toggle switch it immediately breaks the loop and enters in "manual" mode. Is that correct?

I will keep this simple. I am an Arduino expert with a considerable number of projects completed. Please take a quick look at my website where you can see my past and current projects. I do a lot of project mentoring and your problem is not a difficult one. I would firstly change the code to use a state engine and then deploy timers to stop the blocking of the program flow that is caused using the delay function. Cheers Pete.
