LS-DYNA: Ball Impact on a Plate Open

Construct an impact analysis of a ball penetrating various plates. Aluminum, platinum, and gold will be the different materials used for the plates and steel for the ball. The ball will travel at a velocity of 100 m/s through the plate with the thickness of 0.25, 0.5, and 1 inch for each material used in order to test which plate better absorbs the impact. Charts comparing the plate's performance will need to be made. LS Dyna software required. To model penetration you will need to enable material failure. Pay attention to the failure criteria in the plate to make sure it matches the ultimate strain of the real material.
