THIS is a restatement of the work I need done.
This is my first time here and my first ASP.net project. Please bear with me.
I have created an ASP.net page where the user selects values from drop down boxes and inputs numbers into some other fields. As the fields change the values are sent to some VB and the result is written to a field on the page. The data for the result is in XML. VB code reads the XML file and calculates the result when the controls change.
I’m calculating the interest rate of a mortgage based on a number of factors. I start with a base rate and add or subtract adjustments based on the values from the controls. So if I have a base rate of 5% and the user selects an LTV (Loan To Value) of 90% then +.5% is added. If they then choose a credit score of 700 a ??"25% is added. So the program looks at each control, each time one changes, and calculates 5 + .5 - .25 to display 5.25.
It works fine on my local Win2k server. The problem is our web server is a Cobalt box with ChiliASP.
I need it converted to ASP and info on how to install it. I thought my main problem was getting the controls to display in the browser, but maybe I can’t separate the VB behind the controls from the controls.
I hope this gives your folks a better idea on the scope of the work.
Bonus Points: Punch up the interface (some controls could be radio buttons) and, since some fields are interdependent, add multiple pages, i.e. Step 1, Step 2…
