Set Up Environment and Make it Work (JAVA RMI)

To execute the application you must modify appropriately the available middleware TaskBag which it has been developed in Java RMI environment and enables execution of parallel computations, and is integrated to a photo editing application in a distributed environment (Java RMI).

The system "TaskBag" consists of three entities:

Entity 1 - "Master", which is the entity that allocates processing, by placing in Taskbag individual processing modules (tasks) which are assigned to the Workers of the system.

Entity 2 - "Taskbag", which is the entity that manages the individual processing units and gets the results of the Workers of the system and includes appropriate structures for storing descriptions of tasks, input data and results. "Taskbag" provides appropriate versions of the remote methods "pairOut (key, value)", "pairIn(key)" and "readPair(key)" for adding and retrieving tasks, data and results to / from the "Taskbag", which can be called from the "Master" and "Workers" of the system.

Entity 3 - "Workers" who undertake to perform the available tasks included in "Taskbag", returning the results in "Taskbag".

The requested processing of photorealistic graphics (3D rendering) replies to an implementation in the distributed environment through proper interface with the middleware "TaskBag", with an appropriate application of rendering / raytracing, which should support the operation and management through command line rendering and input file that describes the photorealistic scene. It is recommended to use the widespread and proven freeware application Blender 3D. There is more applications out there, and if you have a better one in mind feel free to recommend. Must be freeware, please (like POV-Ray ).

Through "TaskBag" middleware by using command-line parameters you should allocate the editing of the video in the distributed computing environment. In no case is requested to employ the detailed modeling of photorealistic scenes, so for the purposes of our work simply select any demo video available from the application folder I provide.

I need help setting up the environment on a "clean" PC laptop running Windows Vista or higher.

I need the program installed and fully working.

I provide three solutions to the problem, we choose one, we set up and run correctly. We prove it works and renders the pictures succesfully.

We take screenshots as we go.

We have a month till due date. I will select a reasonable priced bid since this is only a set up, no full hands on coding, perhaps simple modifications for ports or parameters on one or more lines.

Just a clarification. We will not render a VIDEO. We will render the provided pictures (JPEG) in the appropriate folder. The program takes the pictures in by a ".txt" file which has a list of pictures in it.

The code provided is supposed to be fully working. You will find it in the folder PhotoAlbum1. That is what we need to set up / run / and take screenshots. Do not overestimate the workload of the project. It has only minor coding involved. It should be fairly easy for someone that knows what JVM is.
