Sometimes the need and the available resources creates a challenge. And with challenge comes a project. Poker Excel is a good example of this filosophy. Poker Excel was built to allow play Texas Holdem Poker in real time using a local network. The main problem was to create a solid, stable and quick server. After several attempts a original protocol was achieved. It uses for each client 4 auxiliary files (two to store information to be sent and other two to store information to be received from the main server). Up to 6 players can join the Poker room, chat, play, win and lose, but above all have some fun. All the rules are fully integrated and there is alos option to quick tournaments to be played with progressive bets. In the future this project will be upgraded to allow bots to play against the human opponents, adding to this project a some Artificial Intelligence.
