My primary research goals are directed towards
understanding the basis of past observed climate change as well as estimating the likelihood and
magnitude of future climate change. As part of my PhD research I worked in both dynamic and
statistical downscaling areas which are tools to analyze the pattern of climate change over any
region. For the dynamic downscaling analysis I used Weather Research and Forecasting Model
(WRF). I looked into a number of atmospheric and climatic systems that include cloud bursts, dust
storms and cyclone Gonu etc. I also devised a systematic methodology in estimation of performance
of different model options (e.g. parameterizations etc.) during dynamic downscaling and emplyoed
WRF in understanding the pattern of climate change over India during last couple of decades.
