This article is about the birth, working and structure of united nation. The birth of the United Nations was an answer to two devastating world wars. It was hoped that its creation could foster enough cooperation between nations around the globe to abstain from future conflicts. The Security Council of the United Nations has the primarily responsibility for the maintenance of peace and security at the world level. It is comprised of 15 United Nations member states. There are things that should be changed in the structure of the Security Council; one of them is veto power because the five countries with veto power in the Security Council enjoy most of the authority to address the matters of peace and conflict. The Iraq fiasco and many other conflicts that happened in Africa and Latin America have proved that there is a dire need of representation of such countries in the Security Council of the United Nations.
