Yaadon ki Baraat- a walk down the memory lane

As the project title suggests, I want to create a video based on some old photos of my parents and relatives as memory recapitulation for all, on the occasion of my father's retirement party. Obviously I dont want a simple slide presentation because of which I am here otherwise I could have done it. The end product should be like a film with some animation/graphics. I am quite clear with what I need and a verbal explanation will give a more clear picture.
