We have an existing script (HTML / AJAX / Javascript / JQuery / PHP) that sends a photo seamlessly from an input field to a third party REST API that will return data about the photo.

There are two objectives for this project:

1. resize the photo (in javascript, no page reload) before upload to ease the transfer (objective is to have the photo large enough to be read but below 1Mo)

2. make minor changes to the existing code in order to have a workable "waiting icon" while the data is being retrieved.
