We've been working with a programming company for the past year and a half. Things have been extremely rocky and we're looking to commit with a new programming team. Our main concern right now would be the transition. We are looking for guidance from a programming team that would be able to provide insight on the correct and best ways to do things.
Our Goal:
Monopolize the online market for each product line. The only way to do so is by having fully automated ecommerce solution. This automation includes easy to order online -> XML integration w/ our in house ordering system -> shipping w/ FedEx -> email marketing campaign.
Our Current Problems to be solved:
-Multiple admin database errors (Duplicate online orders, problems searching orders, incorrect database paths)
-FedEx Shipping Integration (orders go through with $0.00 shipping amounts at times)
-No CMS integration for product lines
-No daily updates
-Long turn around times
-No design help (We currently have to design everything)
-Customers aren't kept in the loop at all.
Project Outline:
-Fully fix & complete the mess left behind
-Fully automate our ecommerce sites
-Multiple new sites (10-15 sites in the long run)
-Implement automated email marketing campaign
-Implement internal blogs per site
-There will be a test project given out to multiple possible programs
Can you turn around full ecommerce sites within 15 days?
Can you provide daily email updates even if no work as been completed?

Can you provide any inbound linking?
Do you have any flash experience?

-Previous Customized CMS
-Design Capabilities
Our IDEA:
Take sites 1,2,3,4,5 (all different products)
Take blogs 1,2,3,4,5 (links with correspond site [login to view URL])
Email Mkt 1,2,3,4,5 (Automated cross selling, new promotions)
Automation 1,2,3,4,5 (Online Orders -> XML -> Our order system)

Programmers Evaluation:
Each programmer will be given the same project. This project will contain multiple PSD files which must be translated into a sample site.
The sample site will have to go from a design hosted by you -> order processed in the shopping cart. There isn't any need for the site to go into payment gateway.
Pages to create:
-Home Page
-Product Page 1
-Order Pages - 1-5 (5 Products)
This test project will be sent to each team. The team that does the best job will be evaluated and possible awarded the long term business relationship. Please keep in mind of the above questions & attributes we are looking for with our new team.
All pricing, terms and such will be disgusted at later date.
