Hi,
Does your landlord have the right to decide whether you are allowed to get back in to the house or not?
I am asking as I have been in the UK since December and was initially going to come back to Dublin in January but as they had concerns regarding the London strain of covid I pushed it back tilI now. I’ve let my landlord/housemate know that I’ll be coming back in March (I even said I’ll send them my negative covid test) and they basically are saying it is up to them to decide if I am welcome to come back or not as they do not want me to quarantine in the house. I ended up staying 3 months in the UK while I only planned to stay 2 weeks so I think I’ve been very understanding so far (I was paying rent while away too).
So my question is :
- Is this legal?
- If I show up at the house, can the landlord terminate my conract/kick me out?
