Help setting up Google Tag Manager

We are a small magazine who needs help setting up Google Tag Manager. The code has been added to the site etc. but we're having trouble getting it working. Specifically, we need to be measuring an ad on our site ASAP. It's probably only a couple of hours of work but could potentially lead to more work in the future.
