Create a online form that searches date for product warranty

Project: Online warranty form for RMA products.

Details: Our Company allows a 3 year warranty from manufacture date for product RMA. The manufacturer date is encoded on each product with the serial #.

An example of a serial #’s (only 2 formats):

Format #1: (real serial format does not have spaces)

S**1000 1308 310739 (=Aug of 2013)

S**600 1309 3339940 (=Sept of 2013)

S**400 1407 3359456 (=July of 2014)

Format #2: (real serial format does not have spaces)

R9351B- 123 600001 (=Mar of 2012)

R9351B- 114 600800 (=Apr of 2011)

The spaced out portion is the date of manufacture YY/MM. (real serial format does not have spaces)

Script needs to analyze this date to verify it is within the 3 year manufacture warranty (compared to today’s date).

Requirement: Script for website for user to search using serial # for product warranty, and if the warranty # is valid, they can proceed to add this item to a warranty claim form (also to be designed) which will be emailed to our office upon completion.

We have a few other items that can be added to the warranty request form, however they do not require serial # verification.
