The Man Project will be a website and app-based platform that aims to assist men to access a range of mental health and related services. Men have historically been underrepresented when it comes to accessing various forms of support, so we have teamed up as a collective to create a one stop shop to break down the barriers and make seeking help easier.
Barriers to help seeking include men’s general hesitancy to reach out, a lack of understanding of mental health issues and the effective treatments, the stigma associated with mental health issues and the lack of appeal of existing services that are dominated by female practitioners who may lack an understanding of the specific therapeutic needs of men.
With therapy services predominantly delivered by women, and many men feeling either intimidated, embarrassed or culturally alienated, this has discouraged men from reaching out for help. The system as it is now has a problem.
The Man Project aims to address these barriers by providing a platform that makes help seeking more findable, accessible and usable.
The Man Project will become a one stop shop for men seeking help across a range of life domains from therapy to finances, legal advice to marriage support.
It is hoped that through The Man Project, we can put Men back in Mental Health.
The Man Project requires branding and a logo that reflects our mission to improve the mental health of men. The branding and logo therefore needs to be instantly recognisable as being emblematic of the space where they can find help that is tailored to their needs.
