Hopefully a relatively simple project for some.
I want to create a MVP for a dash cam app.
I am very bad with what is possible in terms of creating apps and have no idea how it is done.
The MVP would be a basic camera app before later adding a paid model where features such as data recording (speed, location/gps etc.) would be added.
For the MVP the app/camera would hopefully be able to still run in the background while other apps are being used.
For example, let’s say a person is driving in their car and using a navigation app to get around, I would want the app to still be functioning in the background. Hopefully that is possible.
If someone was to be unfortunate to encounter or be a part of an accident, they could straight away switch to the app and click a button to save the footage.
So it should work like any other dash cam which uses loop recording.
Two minutes would be a good duration of time. It would be a bonus if you could have a settings function where people can choose settings such as length of time or recording quality. But that is not necessary for the MVP. Let me know your thoughts in your proposal.
The main function is that it should be able to record/function in the background while using other apps and to save footage for a fair amount of time.
Also crucially, when a customer/user clicks a button to save footage, it is also sent to me/the business for our records. I don’t know how this would work so please advise me on required requirements. I don’t know if it would get emailed to me or uploaded to a particular server, if that’s even a thing. So please, if all the above is possible for you please advise me accordingly.
Also if you specialise in one particular type of app such as IOS or Android and would focus on one or the other, please let me know as I wouldn’t mind working with two different teams to build on each platform.
